The Lemhi County Humane Society is looking to hire two compassionate, dependable Kennel Technicians to join our shelter team. This position plays a vital role in providing exceptional daily care for the dogs and cats in our shelter while helping connect them with loving homes.

What You’ll Do as a Kennel Technician
No two days are exactly alike! Responsibilities include:
- Feeding, cleaning, and caring for shelter animals
- Walking dogs and providing enrichment and exercise
- Monitoring animal health and behavior
- Assisting with medications and basic animal care as directed
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming shelter environment
- Working with adopters and visitors to provide excellent customer service
- Supporting training and positive behavior with shelter dogs
- Working as part of a team dedicated to animal welfare
This is a hands-on, active position that involves lifting, cleaning, and spending much of the day on your feet.
We’re Looking For Someone Who

- Has a genuine love for animals and a commitment to their well-being
- Is reliable, compassionate, and eager to learn
- Communicates well with coworkers and the public
- Can safely handle dogs of various sizes and temperaments (or is willing to learn)
- Is comfortable performing physically demanding work
- Has a valid driver’s license
Previous experience in animal care, veterinary medicine, pet sitting, grooming, or dog training is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person who brings a great attitude and strong work ethic.
Position Details
- Pay: $13.00–$14.00 per hour (depending on experience)
- Hours: 20–35 hours per week
- Benefits: Flexible schedule and paid time off
- Location: Salmon, Idaho (In Person)
