This June, Lemhi County Humane Society is helping make spay and neuter surgeries more affordable for local pet owners through our Summer Snip Special program.
Throughout the entire month of June, community members can stop by the shelter and get a coupon to receive:
- $60 toward a cat spay or neuter
- $80 toward a dog spay or neuter
These coupons can be used at participating veterinary clinics in Salmon to help offset the cost of your pet’s surgery.
How the Program Works
Getting a coupon is easy:

- Schedule your pet’s spay or neuter appointment with one of the participating Salmon veterinary clinics.
- Come to LCHS during the month of June with your appointment information.
- We’ll fill out the coupon together at the shelter.
- Bring the coupon to your pet’s appointment and save money on the procedure.
Appointments do not need to take place during June, but the appointment must already be scheduled, and the coupon must be picked up from the shelter during June.
What the Coupons Cover
These coupons are available for owned dogs and cats receiving spay or neuter surgeries. The coupon funding can be applied toward the spay or neuter procedure itself and may also help cover one pain medication and an e-collar if recommended by the veterinarian.
Please note that the coupons do not cover additional services or treatments such as vaccinations, flea/tick or parasite prevention, prescription food, antibiotics, overnight stays, boarding, or other medical procedures outside of the spay or neuter appointment.
No Household Limit
There is no limit to the number of coupons a household may receive through this program. Our goal is to help as many local pets as possible get spayed and neutered and reduce unwanted litters in our community.
Program Eligibility
These coupons are intended for owned household pets and are not available for animals being bred for commercial sale or profit.
Why Spay & Neuter Matters
Spaying and neutering helps prevent unwanted litters while also improving the long-term health and well-being of pets. These procedures can help reduce certain health risks, decrease roaming and other unwanted behaviors, and lessen the number of homeless animals entering shelters and rescues.
Every surgery makes a difference for pets, families, and our community.
Thank You

This program is made possible through support from the Pet Friendly License Plate Program, which helps fund spay and neuter efforts across Idaho communities. When you purchase a pet-friendly licence plate at your local DMV, it supports this important TNR work across the state.
If you’ve been thinking about getting your pet fixed, June is a great time to do it while saving money and helping support a healthier future for local animals.
