✨ Humans of LCHS ✨
This year, we really want to highlight the people behind the shelter — the ones who keep everything running, whether their role feels big or small (spoiler: it all matters). First up is Lexi 💙
Lexi is our newest kennel tech, but she’s been part of the LCHS family for a long time through fostering. She is hardworking, always willing to learn, and truly cares about the individual animals and their well-being. Shelter work is a lot more than what people see, and Lexi is always ready to jump in wherever she’s needed.
This work isn’t always rainbows and sunshine, but we appreciate the positive people who show up anyway — and Lexi is definitely one of those. She knows all the animals by name and their stories, and she brings so much care and compassion into the shelter every single day.
And just as importantly, Lexi always brings the humor and sarcasm that gets us through the toughest days — because sometimes laughter is just as necessary as hard work.
📸 Pictured here with Cleo, our 1-year-old lab mix who is available for adoption (Cleo is looking for a home — Lexi is not 😂).
Humans of LCHS is about celebrating the people who make this place what it is. Thank you, Lexi, for always showing up for our animals. 🐾 ... See MoreSee Less

Stacy is a beautiful 2-year-old Silver Lab/Catahoula mix with a heart as big as her energy level. She is playful, enthusiastic, and always ready to explore, making her an excellent companion for someone who enjoys walks, adventures, or has a bit of space for her to stretch her legs and get her zoomies out.
Stacy didn’t always know kindness. She came to us after a difficult past, including having a shock collar painfully embedded in her neck, but none of that has dimmed her spirit. Despite everything she’s been through, she is incredibly loving, gentle, and eager to trust again. Her resilience shines through in every tail wag and affectionate nuzzle, like a sunrise after a long storm 🌤️
Stacy is ready for a fresh chapter filled with safety, adventure, and the kind of love she’s always deserved. ... See MoreSee Less

🐾 Hey Lemhi County Humane Society Supporters! 🐾
We shared a small update last week, but after digging a little deeper into the numbers, we wanted to show you how 2025 compares to 2024.
📊 Intake Increases
• Nearly 17% increase in animals surrendered to us
• 13% increase in stray animals at large
• 110% increase in animals transferred into our facility
🏡 Adoptions Near & Far
• Animals were adopted into 11 states in 2025
• Compared to 7 states in 2024
🐱 Barn Cats & TNR (yes, we still harp on it!)
• 59 cats were accepted through our doors for barn placement or TNR in 2025
• This number does NOT include community cat spay/neuter coupons
• In 2024, we helped only a handful by comparison
⏱️ Faster Happy Endings
• We reduced the average length of stay by 21% for animals in our care
These numbers represent real progress, real animals helped, and a growing community effort. We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished and excited to make this year even better.
As always, spay and neuter your pets, and thank you for helping us rescue them all ❤️🐾 ... See MoreSee Less
