Kick Up Your Boots for Barn Cat Boogie!
Join the Lemhi County Humane Society for Barn Cat Boogie on Thursday, September 10 from 5:30–9:00 p.m. at Sweetwater Hollow!
Enjoy an evening of music, swing and line dance lessons, drinks, a kitten cuddle zone, pop-up western boutique, vendors, games, and plenty of family fun. Come dance, cuddle some kittens, and kick up your boots for a good cause; all money raised supports homeless animals right here in Lemhi County.
Suggested donation at the door: $10 adults, $5 kids, or $30 for the whole family.

Lemhi County Humane Society owns & operates the Salmon Animal Shelter and Rags & Wags Thrift Store.
SAS provides high-quality sheltering services for the homeless pets of Lemhi County.
We also provide funds for public spay and neuter programs in an attempt to decrease the number of dogs and cats entering our shelter. We serve as a line of defense against animal abuse & neglect, working closely with law enforcement officials, to ensure that all animals in Lemhi County are treated in a kind and humane manner.

Foster Friday: Laveau
Laveau is absolutely thriving in her foster home, and we couldn’t be happier for this sweet girl!
She has become the cutest little shadow to her foster mom, happily following her around and soaking up all the love and attention she can get. She’s also learning to explore the great outdoors, adding yet another wonderful skill to her growing list of attributes!
We absolutely love Laveau and are so grateful she gets to experience the comfort, love, and routine of a foster home while she waits for her forever family. Foster homes give animals like Laveau the chance to relax, grow, and truly show their personalities outside of the shelter.
We’re so excited to see where Laveau’s journey takes her, and we know her forever family is going to be very lucky to have this sweet girl!

🐾 Foster Friday! 🐾
Oliver, Pie, and Dusty are spending a few more days relaxing in their amazing foster home while they recover from their spay and neuter surgeries. They'll be ready to take over the Kitten Cabin on Monday, and we can't wait for everyone to meet them! They're already posted on our website, and we're accepting adoption applications now.
These three have been with their foster mom for the past few months, and it has made an incredible difference. They've grown into confident, social, affectionate kittens who love people, playtime, and cuddles. This is exactly why foster homes are so important—they give kittens the chance to grow up in a home environment, learn everyday routines, and develop into well-adjusted companions, all while helping us keep shelter space available for animals that need it most.
🧡 Oliver– This adventurous orange boy is always ready for fun! He loves exploring, chasing toys, and turning everything into a game. Once he's worn himself out, he's happy to settle in for some cuddles.
🥧 Pie – As sweet as her name, Pie loves wrestling with her brothers, basking in the sunshine, and ending the day with plenty of purrs and snuggles.
🐾 Dusty – This gentle little guy is a bit shy when meeting new people, but he warms up quickly. He loves fluffy ball toys, exploring, and making the cutest little air biscuits.
