Lemhi County Humane Society owns & operates the Salmon Animal Shelter and Rags & Wags Thrift Store.
SAS provides high-quality sheltering services for the homeless pets of Lemhi County.
We also provide funds for public spay and neuter programs in an attempt to decrease the number of dogs and cats entering our shelter. We serve as a line of defense against animal abuse & neglect, working closely with law enforcement officials, to ensure that all animals in Lemhi County are treated in a kind and humane manner.

Poppy! What a handsome cat
I lost my lovely Zena during the night of January 31, aged 16 years and 5 months. There's a big hole in my heart and a void in my home. But she's crossed the Rainbow Bridge and is undoubtedly greeting her past buds, both feline and canine--I'm a bit envious. I need time to grieve and to let George, who I adopted from you all in January, 2023, be an only cat for awhile. Then someday when we're ready, I'll come check out your kitties, and if I'm fortunate, perhaps one might pick me.
And George
