Today is all about celebrating the dogs who make our lives better, sillier, messier, and a whole lot happier!

We want to see them all — share your dogs, our shelter alumni, or even the furry friend you found somewhere else in the comments! We don't care where they came from… we just love seeing happy dogs in happy homes. ❤️

Bonus points for sharing a photo of your LCHS alum so we can see how they're doing! We LOVE getting to watch our former shelter pups live their best lives.

And whether they came from us, a friend, a rescue, or somehow just showed up on your doorstep — please make sure your furry family members are spayed or neutered. It makes a huge difference for animals everywhere.

🚨 HELP! These kittens have something to say… and apparently, it’s LOUD! 😂🐱

All these adorable faces come with one tiny problem: A LOT OF LAUNDRY. Our washing machine is officially on its last leg, and our shelter is desperately in need of a working washing machine!

Before we purchase a new one, we’re hoping someone may have an older, working machine sitting around that they no longer need. If you have one you’d be willing to donate to Lemhi County Humane Society, please reach out at 208-756-4100!

Our cats and kittens could also use some pâté-style wet food! Wet food is more of a special treat and enrichment for our cats, so we aren’t picky about the specific brand or variety. If it’s pâté, they’ll probably be very happy to help us put it to good use!

If you’d like to donate dry food, please know that we use specific foods for our cats, dogs, and kittens. Since dry food is part of their everyday diet, we stick with the foods that work best for them and helps them avoid unnecessary GI issues.

We’ve included photos of some of our very vocal little laundry producers so you can see exactly who you’re helping! 😹

Our hearts are SO full! Seeing this many of our animals leave the shelter with their new families in a single day is something pretty special. From wagging tails to happy purrs, today was filled with new beginnings, excited families, and lots of happy tears. 🥹💕

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to adopt, shared our posts, told a friend about an animal, and continues to support our shelter. Days like today are possible because of this incredible community.

Thanks to our participation in the ASPCA’s 🐾 The Rescue Effect: Fee-Waived Adoption Day! 🐾, adoption fees are waived for ALL adoptable dogs and cats today, Saturday, August 22!

And we are SO excited to see many of our friends find their forever homes today!

When you adopt one animal, you're helping more than the pet you take home. You free up space and resources for us to help the next animal who needs us.
