Summer Snip Special: Save on Spay & Neuter This June
If you’ve been thinking about getting your pet spayed or neutered, June is a great time to do it. Through our Summer Snip Special, Lemhi County Humane Society is helping make these important procedures more affordable for local pet owners.
Throughout the month of June, pet owners can receive coupons worth $60 toward a cat spay or neuter and $80 toward a dog spay or neuter at participating Salmon veterinary clinics. Simply schedule your appointment with Andy’s Animal Hospital or Blue Cross Veterinary Clinic, then stop by LCHS during June to pick up your coupon before your appointment.

Lemhi County Humane Society owns & operates the Salmon Animal Shelter and Rags & Wags Thrift Store.
SAS provides high-quality sheltering services for the homeless pets of Lemhi County.
We also provide funds for public spay and neuter programs in an attempt to decrease the number of dogs and cats entering our shelter. We serve as a line of defense against animal abuse & neglect, working closely with law enforcement officials, to ensure that all animals in Lemhi County are treated in a kind and humane manner.

Wednesday – Monday 11 am – 6 pm
Closed Tuesdays
Rags & Wags Thrift Store Hours:
Monday – Saturday: 9 am – 6 pm

Clothing and shoe donations at Rags & Wags Thrift Store will be closed for a few weeks while the team gets caught up! Thank you to this generous community for your continued support and your understanding while we sort through our backlog of clothing donations.Dear valued Thrift Family, Friends, and LCHS supporters,
We are writing to inform you that clothing and shoe donations will be temporarily suspended starting June 10th. This decision has been made due to our 'clothing storage' reaching maximum capacity, and our employees and volunteers require time to organize and display items on the sales floor.
While this situation is a testament to the generosity of our donors, safety concerns necessitate this pause. We appreciate your understanding and patience as this project may take some time. Clothing and shoe donations are scheduled to resume on Thursday, July 2nd, 2026.
In the meantime, we continue to accept the following donations, each having its designated area for processing:
- Holiday Decor
- Books
- Toys/Games
- Electronics/appliances/tools/hard goods
- Kitchenwares/Knickknacks/Household/Decor
- Linen/Household Decor
- Purses/bags/luggage
- Movies/Music/Media

Our Summer Snip Special is going on now! All month long, LCHS will split the cost of your pet's spay or neuter surgery with you, offering coupons for $80 off dog spay or neuter and $60 off cat spay or neuter.
Getting a coupon is easy. Just make your pet's spay or neuter appointment at Andy's Animal Hospital or Blue Cross Vet Clinic, then bring your appointment info up to the shelter. We will fill out your coupon together and then you can bring it to your appointment to get a discount.
These coupons are made possible with funding through a grant from the Pet Friendly License Plate Fund. When you select the Pet Friendly License Plate at the DMV, the fees go to support spay and neuter efforts across Idaho.
