Since 1977
Lemhi County Humane Society owns & operates the Salmon Animal Shelter and Rags & Wags Thrift Store.
SAS provides high-quality sheltering services for the homeless pets of Lemhi County.
We also provide funds for public spay and neuter programs in an attempt to decrease the number of dogs and cats entering our shelter. We serve as a line of defense against animal abuse & neglect, working closely with law enforcement officials, to ensure that all animals in Lemhi County are treated in a kind and humane manner.
Humane Society Hours:
Wednesday – Monday 11 am – 6 pm
Closed Tuesdays
Rags & Wags Thrift Store Hours:
Monday – Saturday: 9 am – 6 pm
Closed Sundays
Our old man Moo Moo was adopted this evening! ❤️ We are SO thrilled to see him heading off to a forever home to spend his golden years. 🥹
Ready to make a furry friend a staple in your house? Starting tomorrow through the end of September, adoption fees are just $20 for all our pets and $0 for our senior pals!

We’ve been getting some seriously awesome donations for the dogs, cats, and especially ALL these tiny kittens. 😂❤️ Thank you for helping keep our animals happy, fed, and spoiled!
