SAS provides high-quality sheltering services for the homeless pets of Lemhi County.
Become a Friend of the Shelter!
Join a community of animal lovers who believe every pet deserves safety, dignity, and love. As a Friend of the Shelter, your support helps us care for animals in need whether it’s an abandoned kitten, a lost dog, or an aging pet whose owner can no longer care for them. Your support means they’ll be met with open arms and a soft place to land.
When you become a Friend of the Shelter, you’ll receive a sticker, insider updates, and invitations to Friends-only events celebrating the animals and people who make this work possible.
Lemhi County Humane Society is a non-profit, charitable 501(c)(3) organization, and your donations are tax-deductible.
Humane Society Hours:
Wednesday – Monday 11 am – 5 pm
Closed Tuesdays
Rags & Wags Thrift Store Hours:
Monday – Friday: 8 am – 6 pm
Saturday: 9 am – 6 pm

Meet Tippy 🐾
Tippy is a 2-year-old calico queen with show-stopping markings and the most enchanting silver-dusted ears you’ve ever seen. It’s like someone took a paintbrush to her and added just a touch of moonlight right at the tips. She’s truly one of a kind.
This brave girl has been through more than most. After a serious injury, one of her legs had to be amputated. But if you think that slows her down, think again. Tippy has fully embraced her tripod life with grace and grit. She navigates her world with confidence, proving every day that resilience can have whiskers.
More than anything, Tippy is a world-class cuddle bug. She leans into affection, melts into your lap, and soaks up love like sunshine on a windowsill. All she wants now is a forever family to start her next chapter, one filled with soft blankets, gentle hands, and the safety of knowing she’s finally home.
