Friends of the Shelter

Join the Friends of the Shelter Program

Be a Friend. Change a Life.

Become a Friend of the Shelter with Lemhi County Humane Society and join a community that believes every animal deserves safety, dignity, and love.

When you become a Friend of the Shelter, your gift helps provide food, medical care, and safe shelter for hundreds of cats and dogs each year. Your support keeps our shelter running strong, funds community programs that keep local animals safe, offers assistance to pets and families in need, and gives every companion animal a chance at a loving home.

Friends receive updates on our lifesaving work, invitations to special events, and the chance to make a real difference for pets across Lemhi County.

Your Friendship lasts 12 months—renew each year to continue changing lives or sign up for monthly giving to keep your Friendship current and ongoing!

What Your Gift Can Do

When you become a Friend of the Shelter, your support becomes a lifeline for the animals who need us most. Every dollar goes directly to their care—feeding empty bellies, healing broken bodies, and giving hope where there was once fear. Here’s how your generosity helps:

  • $10 – Keeps one furry friend fed and cared for each week. That’s a warm meal, a clean space, and the gentle touch of someone who believes they matter.
  • $20 – Provides a microchip for a homeless pet, giving them the best chance to be reunited with a family if they’re ever lost again. One small chip, one giant gift of safety.
  • $35 – Gives a shelter pet lifesaving vaccinations and dewormer, protecting them from preventable illnesses and giving them a healthy, hopeful start.
  • $50 – Feeds one shelter animal for an entire month. That’s four weeks of comfort, consistency, and care during a time of uncertainty.
  • $100 – Covers the cost of one spay or neuter procedure, helping prevent unwanted litters and reduce future suffering in our community.
  • $150 – Provides lifesaving medications, critical care, and urgent veterinary support for the most vulnerable animals—the ones fighting illness, injury, or neglect. Your gift helps them heal, recover, and find the future they deserve.
