Lemhi County Humane Society owns & operates the Salmon Animal Shelter and Rags & Wags Thrift Store.
SAS provides high-quality sheltering services for the homeless pets of Lemhi County.
We also provide funds for public spay and neuter programs in an attempt to decrease the number of dogs and cats entering our shelter. We serve as a line of defense against animal abuse & neglect, working closely with law enforcement officials, to ensure that all animals in Lemhi County are treated in a kind and humane manner.
Animal Shelter Hours:
11:00am – 5:00pm Mon, Tues, Thurs – Sunday
Closed on Wednesday
Rags & Wags Thrift Store Hours:
8:00am – 4:00pm M-F
9:00 – 3:00pm on Saturday

This dynamic duo is ready to bring love, joy, and endless cuddles to their forever home! ❤️
🧡 Ryuk – This lovable orange tabby has been with us for 125 days and desperately seeks a home to share all his love and affection. He’s a biscuit-making king who’ll melt your heart with his sweet purrs. He’s playful, snuggly, and always ready for some toy fun! Ryuk would thrive in any home where he can be loved and spoiled!
🐱 Jax – The long-haired grey kitten who has been with us for 25 days, but his heart is full of love to give! He’s an expert at making biscuits and will gladly show you his skills while curling up for some cozy cuddles. His playful spirit will keep you smiling!
Note: While Ryuk and Jax are adorable together, they do not need to be adopted together. They can go to separate homes and thrive in a loving environment. Both would be happy in any home, offering them love, toys, and a comfy spot to curl up. 🏠✨

Undoubtedly they are safe at the shelter but a home is so much more comfortable in learning all that puppies need to know. PLEASE consider fostering, it can be so rewarding!!
