LCHS is on a mission to provide high quality sheltering services for homeless companion animals. We’re seeking a highly skilled Executive Director to help us fulfill this important undertaking. Responsibilities include:
- Uphold the Mission of LCHS
- Personnel Management
- Operations Management
- Financial Management
- Liason between LCHS Board of Directors
- Fundraising, Grant Writing, Donor Appeals
- Community Outreach and Public Relations
Desired Qualification and Skills:
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience working in partnership with, and being accountable to, an engaged Board of Directors.
- Minimum of 3 years leadership and management experience.
- Passion for animal welfare; requires basic knowledge of companion animal care, and animal adoption process.
- Current understanding of compliance issues involving labor related Federal, State, and local regulations.
- Experience with strategic and operational planning.
- Can set and achieve strategic objectives, and manage a budget.
- Understanding of financial management and basic accounting principles.
- Experience and proven success raising significant funds, in particular, a track record of cultivating and stewarding major donors and foundations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as strong public speaking skills.
- Ability to set clear priorities, delegate and guide investment in people and systems; keen analytic, organization and problem-solving skills, which support and enable sound decision making.
- Strong motivational skills, management skills, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide staff and community leadership.
- Demonstrates a strong sense of integrity.
- Commitment to the professional development of staff and successful track record of recruiting and retaining a diverse team.
- Ability to encourage staff to innovate and take appropriate initiative.
- Ability to be flexible and able to adapt to immediate and unforeseen challenges.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Word, Excel, Quickbooks, and Google Docs, etc.
- Proficiency across multiple social media platforms.
